9-11-20    THOUGHTS

Just typing that date sobers me instantly.  My Uncle from Tennessee called and told me to turn on the news.  The next hour was like a vision... surreal.  The mind implants of that morning were permanent...  like scars, never to go away.  Each airport trip reminds of the consequences of that day.  The loss of life will be remembered especially today by many.  We stepped into a world of SUSPICION and DISTRUST that day.   The ways of Satan and this physical world became more obvious, bolder it seems?  We are sadder and less innocent from the experience.  It is the physical Phil that writes these thoughts.   The spiritual Phil is already deep in Rom 8:31-39
“What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?  32
He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also  with Him freely give us all things? 33  Who will bring a charge against God’s elect? God is the one who justifies; 34  who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. 35  Who will separate us from the love of Christ?  Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? 36  Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED." 37  But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. 38  For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, 39  nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

PERSPECTIVE is a marvelous word that carries a KEY IDEA!   How do you see things?
The options so far this morning are PHYSICAL and SPIRITUAL.    The first paragraph above puts me in deep distressed thought and mood.   The second “WRITTEN BY GOD” brings me to the highest joy and confidence imaginable.

Church that I love, EACH DAY presents itself with PERSPECTIVE OPTIONS!  Actually, each moment clamors for our attention to all sorts of perspective options.  Long-term or short-term thing for example. Detail or big picture thinking?  Me or My Brother concerns.  It goes on and on.

Somewhere above WE FIND LIFE!   The wife of a man said this about her husband...   "Please do not let my lord pay attention to this worthless man, Nabal, for as his name is, so is he. Nabal is his name and folly is with him;   1Sam 25:25  Nabal died a few days later.
Proper BIBLICAL PERSPECTIVE demands that we see things through THE EYES OF GOD’S WORD!

My Prayer:
Great God of all eternity, cause us to see clearly what you know we need to see.  Help us to see your words as necessary food.        In Jesus name              Amen
